Who am I

Success in life begins with knowing, "Who am I? What is the purpose of my life?" Knowledge of the self exists; but sincere seekers are rare. More rare are the great teachers of such wisdom. Since time immemorial, wise men have described our wonderful nature: spiritual, primeval, ever-existing, undying, unchangeable, imperishable. This selection of the writings of Jagad Guru Siddhaswarupananda Paramahamsa (Chris Butler) shares that timeless wisdom — inspiring, challenging , practical.

SIXTEEN

1
Having surrendered Myself at Thy feet
I feel supremely happy.
Sorrow has departed, there are no cares,
I find joy on all sides.

2
Free from all sorrow and fears
Ever the seat of unalloyed bliss
Are those twin feet of Thine.
In them even now resting in repose
I give up all worldly fear.

3
Thy household I shall serve,
I shall not enjoy the fruit.
For whatsoever pleases Thee I shall endeavor
Being enamored by Thy feet.

4
In Thy service the sorrows that befall
Verily are the highest bliss.
The sorrows and joys of Thy service
Are the best of estates,
They destroy the misery of ignorance.

5
My past history I have completely forgotten
In my mind experiencing the of Thy service.
I am, indeed, Thine, Thou art truly my own,
What other treasures do I need?

6
Bhaktivinode, up to Thy service immersed in joy,
Devotes all his efforts, in pursuance of Thy will,
Living in Thy house.

LIVING ENERGY
We may think we are attracted to the beautiful body of a woman, but actually it is the spark of life which attracts us. When Marilyn Monroe ?died?, when the life force left the material body, the body was no longer attractive. All that was left was a lump of unattractive matter that was thrown in the dirt. So is it logical to think that material energy is all-attractive? No. Life force or spirit is the attractive element.
