Who am I

Success in life begins with knowing, "Who am I? What is the purpose of my life?" Knowledge of the self exists; but sincere seekers are rare. More rare are the great teachers of such wisdom. Since time immemorial, wise men have described our wonderful nature: spiritual, primeval, ever-existing, undying, unchangeable, imperishable. This selection of the writings of Jagad Guru Siddhaswarupananda Paramahamsa (Chris Butler) shares that timeless wisdom — inspiring, challenging , practical.

SEVENTEEN

1
I do not know by what power impelled
Thy abode I seek for refuge
Full of mercy, purifier of sinners,
Thou art ever bent on the deliverance of the fallen.

2
My only hope, Oh Lord, is this
That Thou surely art kind,
There is not another who needs Thy mercy more than myself
Thou wilt surely drive away all my fear.

3
No one in all the world
Has the power to deliver me
Cherished Lord, full of mercy, by Thy declaration
Save the basest of sinners.

4
Having considered everything I have thus come
To Thy feet, Oh Lord,
I am ever Thy servant and Thou the maintainer
Thou , Lord or the world, art my protector.

5
I am but servant, all is Thine;
My Thou wilt deliver
I take hold of Thy feet
I, indeed, am not mine.

6
Bhaktivinode has taken refuge
At Thy feet crying.
To forgive offence, imbue with love for Thy name,
And to maintain him, belong to Thee.

If life is materially based, then why don't we see it springing from matter in the natural world? And why can't we create life from matter in our laboratories?
